2020 Practice Schedule
- After school practice (May 1 - May 20)
- Summer morning practice (May 22 - Divisionals Meet)
The BCC Sharks Swim Team has two swimming pools available for practice:
- Spicewood pool (11210 Spicewood Club Drive)
- Balcones Country Club pool (8600 Balcones Club Drive)
New Sharks Swimmers are required to attend a swim evaluation prior to the first practice. See calendar for those dates.
Previous Sharks Swimmers may attend one of the Swim Evaluations in order to be evaluated for a different practice group. If you do not attend an evaluation, you will be placed in a group by the coaches. Please show up on the first day to the practice group listed on your SwimTopia account. Groups will be posted the week prior to the first day of practice.
Inclement Weather Practice Cancellation Guidelines
Here are some guidelines Sharks coaches will use when determining whether or not to cancel practice:
- If there is thunder and/or lightning, practice definitely will be cancelled.
- Practice will not be cancelled due to rain alone; we will swim in the rain unless the amount of rain makes it difficult to see the swimmers in the pool.
The Sharks use Remind and Swimtopia to send practice cancellation alerts so be sure to follow us!

Evening Summer Practices (Spicewood Pool)
Due to the limited number of practice slots, evening summer practices are limited to those families with parents working away from the home. Evening practices are offered Monday-Friday beginning May 22 at the Spicewood Pool.
- Spots in evening practices are limited and will be made available to accommodate families with two working parents, who are UNABLE to get their swimmer to morning summer practice due to work schedules.
- Spots will be assigned on a first-come-first-served basis and once an evening practice time becomes full it will be closed.
- Morning swimmers may attend an occasional evening practice if their morning session was missed that day IF SPACE PERMITS. This means you may show up to the evening practice (of your same ability level group) but understand that you MAY NOT BE ALLOWED to attend practice if the coaches feel the pool is too full to safely conduct practice. Open space in the pool will be granted on a first come first served basis and all regular evening swimmers will be given pool priority. This is applicable for evening swimmers needing to attend an occasional morning practice as well.
