Registration for the 2024 summer season is open!

Take a look around our website to learn more about us. The "Parents Guide" in the top menu will help you find a lot of good information.

FINAL SWIM EVALUATION on April 14. See calendar for more information. Come see us with your questions and have your child evaluated to be on the team.

> We welcome all families, whether they are members of the Balcones Country Club or not. Non-BCC members simply pay a small facility fee.

> Please know that summer swim team is different from other youth sports: it takes a lot of volunteers to operate. As such, families of swimmers age 14 and under are required to volunteer. Volunteering is fun and a great way to meet other families! Our Family Participation and Volunteer Policy is HERE

> Swimmers new to the Sharks must be evaluated before being placed on the team. The Sharks is not a learn-to-swim program. Children must be able to swim at least 25 yards unassisted. The coaches will place swimmers in practice groups depending on skills and ability. Dates and information about new swimmer evaluations are on our calendar HERE.

> The season starts with after-school practice on April 29. The last swim meet will be on June 30. Practice is typically Monday through Friday at a time between 5:30pm-8pm after-school and 8am-noon in the summer. We have limited evening spots from 5:30pm-8pm in summer for working parents who are not able to get their child to morning practices due to work schedules. Practice schedule is TBD and will depend on the practice group your swimmer is assigned to, which will be emailed to parents a couple of days before practice starts on April 29.** Evening practice for younger/beginner groups is full, so we have started a waitlist.**

> Swim meets start very early on Saturday mornings (e.g., warmup can start as early as 5-5:30am) and usually run until noon-1pm.

> If you or anyone you know is interested in becoming a Platinum, Gold, or Silver Sponsor, contact our Sponsorship Chair at [email protected]. Platinum Sponsors are exempt from volunteering.

> Swimmers registered by March 31 will get a team shirt.

> Registration will close on April 15 or when all spots are filled. After that point, a $25 late fee applies, and we can accept additional swimmers at our discretion (e.g. families who fulfilled volunteer requirements in past seasons and swimmers to balance the team).

>Not ready to register? You can receive preseason emails and updates by signing up HERE. You can also follow us on Facebook.

The 2024 summer swim season will be our 47th year!

As a team, we strive to instill in kids a love for competitive swimming in a fun and enriching atmosphere. Our coaching staff and parent volunteers are key in bringing this vision to life.

Our team consists of 170+ swimmers, age 17 years old and younger. We are located in Northwest Austin. The BCC Sharks have two swimming pools for training and racing. The team is made up of members of BCC (Balcones Country Club) and nonmembers.

The Sharks Swim Team is a member of the nonprofit Northwest Swim Circuit – a group of 13 member swim teams. The swim season is approximately 10 weeks long, beginning in May and culminating with our Divisional and Invitational Meets in July. We have an intra-squad Blue & White Meet, followed by 5 to 6 dual/tri meets either home or away. The Sharks season finishes with an awards banquet and team annual meeting after the Invitational Meet.
