2023 SHARKS SWIM-A-THON
FRIDAY, JUNE 9TH
(during regular practice)
The 2023 Sharks Swim-A-Thon is a great way for us to come together as a team! The Sharks Swim Team is a non-profit team and we rely on registration, sponsors, and fundraisers to operate. All funds raised go directly to our amazing coaches, site maintenance, supplies, scholarships, and meet expenses.
What do you need to do? Tell your family, friends, and neighbors how much you love swimming for Sharks and ask them to make a small donation. Since this is a team effort we are asking each swimmer to try and raise a minimum of $50. Prizes given to the top 5 fundraisers.
How does it work? We will transform "regular" practice on Friday, June 9th into our 2023 Swim-A-Thon. Coaches will guide swimmers to complete as many laps as possible in a designated time period (determined by age/group). We will have swimming, music, snacks, drinks, and prizes - a perfect Fun Friday.
Go Sharks!
The 2023 summer swim season will be our 46th year!
As a team, we strive to instill in kids a love for competitive swimming in a fun and enriching atmosphere. Our coaching staff and parent volunteers are key in bringing this vision to life.
Our team consists of 170+ swimmers, age 17 years old and younger. We are located in Northwest Austin. The BCC Sharks have two swimming pools for training and racing. The team is made up of members of BCC (Balcones Country Club) and nonmembers.
The Sharks Swim Team is a member of the nonprofit Northwest Swim Circuit – a group of 13 member swim teams. The swim season is approximately 10 weeks long, beginning in May and culminating with our Divisional and Invitational Meets in July. We have an intra-squad Blue & White Meet, followed by 5 to 6 dual/tri meets either home or away. The Sharks season finishes with an awards banquet and team annual meeting after the Invitational Meet.
