Katie Sowa - Head Coach
Katie Sowa is excited to join the BCC Sharks for her first year as Head Coach. Katie has served as the Head Coach for 3 years with swim teams in
Houston, her hometown. She spent many years swimming summer league and
club. She swam on the varsity swim team at Jersey Village High School, where she served as captain her senior year. Other than swimming, her
passion in high school was playing on the water polo team. She spent a
few years on the club water polo team at The University of Texas at Austin
as well.
Katie is a senior at The University of Texas at Austin, where her double
major consists of Human Development & Family Sciences and
Radio-Television-Film. Upon graduation, Katie will continue plans to apply
to Dental School for Fall 2009 admission. She aspires to become a pediatric
dentist. Her interests include running, swimming, Adam Sandler movies,
attending UT sporting events, and wakeboarding. She is pumped for the
upcoming season and can't wait to see what it's like to be a BCC Shark!! |
Nurrie Wilson - Head Coach
Nurrie Wilson, a former BCC Shark, joins us for her 3rd year, stepping up into the role of Head Coach. She swam for Westwood High School Warriors for four years and was the captain of the varsity swim team.
Nurrie is committed in helping each swimmer achieve his or her potential, whether the swimmer is a beginner or seasoned competitor.
She is currently training for her first marathon in November, but promises that swimming is still her first love and continues to swim often. She is excited to be coaching alongside Katie and expects this to be the best season yet! She is also thrilled to have Christian and Patsy returning as well as our new assistant coaches, Zach Dielmann and Katie Armus, joining the BCC coaching staff.
If she allows herself any free time from her Sharkies, Nurrie enjoys spending time with her family, outdoor and water activities, trying to ride a bike, and going out for ice cream (chocolate brownie fudge to be exact).

Patsy Endsley - Assistant Coach
Patsy Endsley, a Shark since age 4, joins us for her second summer as an Assistant Coach. She was manager of the Westwood Varsity Swim Team for four years and is now attending Blinn College, majoring in Kinesiology with hopes of entering Texas A&M in the fall. While attending classes Patsy has also been working at the front desk of the Aggieland Fittness Dome.
Patsy's interests include running, being outdoors hanging out with her friends, and having tons of fun! She LOVES! the Sharks and is ready to start the summer and have another great season! |
Christian Hatten - Assistant Coach
Christian Hatten, a former Shark and current team record holder for the 50 breaststroke, is excited to return to the BCC coaching staff for his second year as an Assistant Coach. After moving to Austin in 2005, Christian was a part of the Westwood High School Varsity swim team, where he was part of the All-American 200 Medley relay team in 2007.
A breaststroke and IM specialist, Christian brings over a decade of competitive swimming experience to the staff. Christian currently attends the University of Texas at Austin where he is pursuing a Radio-Television-Film degree. Christian's hobbies include watching and writing movies, working out and trying to keep from getting wet on deck. |
Zach Dielmann - Assistant Coach
Zach Dielmann, a former Shark, is excited about joining the coaching staff for his first year as an Assistant Coach. For the past four years Zach has been part of the Westwood High School swim team and for the past year has been the captain.
Zach, a fly and back specialist, has always wanted to coach the Sharks and hopes to do so for many years to come. Zach's hobbies include anything outdoors including swimming, rock climbing, and hiking. In the fall, he plans to attend Trinity University in San Antonio where he will be a member of the swim team. He will major in either biology or pre-med.

Katie Armus - Assistant Coach
Katie Armus swam with the BCC Sharks for the previous 8 years and will be joining us this year as an Assistant Coach. She swam on the Varsity Westwood High School team for 4 years. She was the winner of the Warrior Underclassman Award as a Sophomore and the Warrior Upperclassman Award as a Junior. Katie participated as a volunteer coach the last two seasons with Sharks.
Katie will be attending the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio this fall, where she will be a member of their NCAA Division II Swim Team. Katie enjoys music and creative writing. She plans to major in education and is looking forward to working with your kids this summer with the Sharks. |
