Summer Swim Pass Information

What is a Summer Swim Pass?

If you are not a BCC Club member (Social, Tennis or Golf) you must purchase a BCC Summer Swim Pass before you can be a member of the BCC Sharks Swim Team. The Sharks Swim Team is a different entity from Balcones Country Club (BCC). We operate as 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. BCC operates as private country club for members only and is completely funded by membership dues. The Summer Swim Pass is purchased directly from BCC. The Summer Swim Pass is purchased in addition to the Shark Swim Team registration fees.

The pass allows your entire family access to the club pools, clubhouse, food services and special summer events. The pass is good while the pools are operational for the summer and also for swimmers at Shark practices and meets for our 10-week season when the pool is not open for member use.

How to purchase a Summer Swim Pass

You may purchase the Summer Swim Pass in advance directly from Balcones Country Club in advance of registration or the day of registration if you are a preregistered family. Be sure and tell BCC that you are planning to register with the Sharks so you will get the discounted price. We advise new families to purchase a swim pass the day of registration (not in advance) after we know we actually have a spot on the team for their swimmers.

To purchase in advance, simply stop by Balcones Country Club main clubhouse at 8600 Balcones Club Drive during business hours and tell the reception you want to purchase a Shark Summer Swim Pass. We don't advise doing this until about one week before our Shark Swim Team registration. Applications are at the front desk and you pay on the spot. You may also wait until the day of either general registration to purchase your Summer Swim Pass where there will be a BCC representative present. You will make a separate payment to BCC. You will not be able to sign up for volunteer positions or checkout until you have purchased the Summer Swim Pass.

Information and Cost of the Summer Swim Pass

The price will vary season-to-season, but Shark families typically receive a substantial discount off the Summer Swim Pass public rate. The public rate for the Swim Pass in 2008 is $400. Shark families receive a 25% discount - $300 (not including applicable tax) for 2008.
