5:00 am - Meet prep team arrives
5:40 am - Swimmers deadline to check-in with Team Parent
7:00 am - Meet start time
PARKING
Since we share the parking lot with our golfing friends, SHARKS please park on the street around the clubhouse. Leave parking across the street and close in street parking for our visiting friends. Please refer to the map on the Meets page for the Balcones pool. There is more information regarding parking restrictions.
Parking on Crest Ridge - Park only on the side of the street close to the Balcones Club house that has no houses - DO NOT PARK IN-FRONT OF HOMES ON THIS STREET.
There will be golf carts driven by swim team volunteers cruising around to help you get to the pool easier if you do need help. Also, please do not block any of the driveways that are on the Club grounds, including cart paths.
CLUBHOUSE ACCESS AND RESTROOM USE
Restroom space is limited as most of you know. Balcones Country Club rules stipulate that children under the age of 10 must be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult when inside the clubhouse. When entering the clubhouse, you must be dressed appropriately, at least shorts and a shirt over the swim suits - not just a towel. For example, no swim suits and bare feet. Swimmers should use outside facilities.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS
· Since we have to arrive earlier at the pool first, it will still be dark. BCC has lights but it can get a bit dark under the tents until the sun comes up! A flashlight can be useful.
· Your child needs to check in with the team parent at the time specified in the meet timeline and be prepared to start warm ups. Warm ups are an essential component in preparing for the swim meet. Swimmers who have not checked with a Team Parent at the appropriate time risks being scratched from the meet.
· Your child is to stay in their age group tent during the meet or let the team parent know where they are going. Team parents are not responsible for finding your child to go to the ready bench to swim.
· Do not leave the meet (unless you are a 6 and under at half time) without telling a coach! Your child may be entered in a relay at the end of the meet and it may not be in the heat sheet. Ask your team parent before you leave if your swimmer is swimming any more events.
· Please make sure your child takes home anything brought to the meet. This includes all of their belongings and any trash they make. We need to be courteous guests and clean up after ourselves. It it not the team parents responsibility to clean up after the kids.

The Sharks swam their way to another clear victory against the Cedar Park Typhoons. The final score was BCC 392.50, Cedar Park 248.50. The Sharks were awesome as usual! To view the complete meet results, go to the Meets website page at http://www.bccsharks.org/meets.html.
SWIMMER HIGHLIGHTS
Our Sharks had 176 time improvements this past meet. On top of that, 27 swimmers had new invitational qualifying swims in 40 events. Of the 27 swimmers, 10 were first-time qualifiers!

| 2008 Logo Contest |

Kids, it's time to start turning in those t-shirt designs for the 2008 team t-shirt. Details are on the website, go to "Resources" and "T-Shirt Logo Design Contest". Please bring your design to the Shark Shack during a meet. Deadline is June 30th.
We are out of the BCC mugs, and will not be ordering them again until next year. Plan ahead and purchase yours at registration to make sure you get one!
See you at the next meet - we will be there as usual, with caps, goggles and fun stuff too.
NWSC Championship
T-Shirts
Every year the Northwest Swim Circuit (NWSC) offers championship t-shirts for purchase. The purchase of NWSC Championship T-Shirts is completely optional. Many families do purchase t-shirts to wear during the "championship" weekend, July 7 and 8. The cost is $10/each ($12/each for XXL and XXXL).
The Shark Shack will have samples to view at this week's meet. We will begin online ordering on Monday, June 11 so watch the website for information.
Orders will only be accepted online on our website through Friday, June 22. Once you place your order, then you can turn in your payment in a sealed envelope at the Shark Shark tent through the June 23 meet. |

Swim Lessons |

The BCC Sharks coaching staff provides private swim lessons for a reasonable fee to any Shark swimmers that are interested in getting extra help outside of the regular team practice times.
The BCC Sharks Swim Team is not involved in managing nor receives any proceeds from the swim lesson program. As a benefit to our coaching staff, Balcones Country Club does allow their pools to be used for the private swim lessons.
Any arrangements for private swim lessons is strictly between the coaching staff and families. Any questions, concerns or comments should be sent directly to Grant Kessler at grant@bccsharks.org, the swim lesson coordinator for 2007. | |
